2019
To this day, sustainable development has not yet gained a defining foothold in key policy fields. For sustainability to gain more political weight and for the process of shaping it to become significantly more effective, science in particular is called upon to provide impetus. It was to provide exactly this kind of impetus that the Wissenschaftsplattform Nachhaltigkeit 2030 (wpn2030) was established. At the conference “Sustainable Development: A Question of Science. Impulses and Innovations for the German Sustainability Strategy”, wpn2030 presented its latest findings and discussed them with stakeholders from politics, science, business and civil society. The conference film introduces the various formats of the annual conference, gives a brief insight into how the science platform works and what it achieves, lets participants speak for themselves, and documents key moments of the annual conference, such as the handover of science-based policy recommendations to the German federal government.
