The educational film supports the training and continuing education of professionals working in early childhood intervention. Its central aim is to help professionals in obstetric care, as well as all professionals engaged in early childhood intervention, recognise just how important their contribution to early childhood intervention is.
The film explains the concept of early childhood intervention and gives an overview of the field through documentary observation, interviews and animated sequences. It offers practical suggestions for all professionals who support parents around the time of birth and in the first months with their child, and serves to train and further educate practitioners in sensitive interaction with families, respectful communication and good collaboration within the network.
The film aims to raise awareness and encourage practitioners to notice the signs that a mother or family needs support even in brief encounters, and to act on them, alongside their medical and nursing duties, in the spirit of early childhood intervention. It addresses professionals from different fields and support systems directly, and aims not only to deepen their understanding of early childhood intervention but also to encourage interprofessional collaboration. The film shows, sensitively and authentically, how obstetric care professionals can support parents in difficult circumstances at an early stage in building a secure bond with their child and caring for it reliably.
