2026

With the German Children and Youth Award, the Deutsches Kinderhilfswerk has, since 2004, honoured projects each year that exemplify commitment to implementing children's rights in the spirit of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The award is presented in three categories: Political Engagement, Solidarity and Togetherness, and Children's and Youth Culture.

Since 2025, LIBRA Film has followed selected nominated projects with the camera and portrayed them in short films shown as part of the award ceremony. The films offer insights into the different projects and highlight the special commitment of the children and young people involved. It is particularly important to us to let the children and young people speak for themselves, to capture their perspectives, and to place them centre stage as protagonists of the films.
