Interview setup in an exhibition hall – a professor sits between glass display cases in front of the camera and film lights

2026

On behalf of the Gleichstellungsbüro (Equal Opportunities Office) of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, LIBRA Film produced a four-part video portrait series about women professors at the university. The films introduce Christine Ruffert, Verena Issel, Louise Rütting and Stefanie Kiwi Menrath in personal interviews, while also accompanying them in their respective working and research environments.

The portraits offer insights into different academic disciplines, fields of research and personal career paths. The aim of the series is to increase the visibility of women professors and their scientific work, to highlight the diverse paths into science, and in particular to encourage early-career researchers and students to consider a career in academia.

The result is four self-contained short films that work both individually and as a series: in university communications, in study orientation, and on the university's own channels.

Making diverse paths into science visible.
