Climate strike researcher Elias König interviewed 14 climate activists and climate scientists about their climate-strike journey: What do they make of the climate strike as a form of action? Where, in their view, is the climate strike movement heading?

Elias König, Social Justice Research Fellow at the IASS from April to December 2022, examines the climate strike as the central form of action within the climate justice movement: How was the climate strike movement able to achieve, in a short space of time, what generations of experienced climate activists had not managed before it — building a worldwide mass movement for climate justice? How has the movement reflected on and developed possible strategic barriers internally in recent years? What role does the concept of the (climate) strike play in current strategic debates about the movement's future?
