How do games engage with transience and death? Under the motto “Playing Dead – Depictions of Death in Computer Games”, host Marcus Richter discusses with Sarah Fartuun Heinze (freelance artist and cultural educator), Nina Kiel (games journalist, researcher and developer) and Ricardo Gehn (media artist at OutOfTheBox) digital mourning culture, comfort in virtual worlds, and life after Game Over. In doing so, they discuss the titles Spiritfarer (Thunder Lotus Games), Necrobarista (Route 59), What Remains of Edith Finch (Giant Sparrow) and Sometimes You Die (kamibox).
